The paint job is holding up well
for a ten-year-old car with over 100,000 miles. The left-front
fender was replaced in 1995 due to a fender-bender, along with the front
bumper, lights, and grill. No hood or engine damage resulted,
however. Strictly "tin damage". |
 |
The paint on the aftermarket
bumper is peeling and needs to be re-done. I also noticed that in
extreme heat the plastic covering on the bumper tends to ripple.
The OEM bumper didn't do this. I was told that all GM parts were
used in the repair, but who knows? |

The tires were replaced in
December of 1999 for the second time. Original Eagle GT+4s did not
last 30,000 miles. Great performance tire, but horrible in the
wear department. Firestone SS10s were much better and lasted
another 70,000. They were replaced with slightly wider Michelin XGT H4 Pilots
(225/60/15) in place of the 215/65/15s. |

Ten-year-old interior.
Still neat and clean. No food or drink allowed, except for
mine. Since the car is a little older now, I am relaxing this
rule. But no cotton candy or anything sticky. Crumbs I can
deal with. |

The 3800 V-6. 165 hp,
220 lb-ft of torque. As reliable as a refrigerator, as long as you
take care of it and feed it right. I can't seem to get the coolant
reservoir clean, so I am going to replace it. Only $9.00 for a new
one. This engine makes pretty good power and torque, but a supercharger
would give it even more. Handling with the FE3 suspension package
is very good for a medium-weight car. |
