Not exactly a "handling modification",
but a safety modification, the Maxima Transverse Link Recall was
issued in June of 2002 and applied to some 2001 as well as 2002
Maximas. The reason for the recall was that apparently under
certain situations the transverse links could crack and separate
from where they were connected to the frame. The solution was
to replace both links. Although it sounds radical, the total time to complete the replacement
of both transverse links was less than an hour and a half.
There was no difference in the handling of the car after the recall
work was completed. |
